This video showed a mentally challenged 30-year-old man being used as a target for fireworks. The social media reaction was less than positive with many people finding the behavior of those shooting the fireworks to be reprehensible. https://www.yourerie.com/news/local-news/victim-of-fireworks-incident-speaks-out/ Groups of Wilkes-Barre residents have banded together to petition state officials to repeal a fireworks law they say has increased disruption of peaceful living and endangered neighborhoods. Linda Joseph, president of the Rolling Mill Hill Residents’ Association, and Wilkes-Barre District B Councilman Tony Brooks, announced a petition drive to repeal the legality of purchasing and selling “consumer fireworks” as authorized in Pennsylvania Act 43, which was passed in 2017. They are joining forces with the Wilkes-Barre Crime Watch Coalition in the effort, Joseph said.
